Wisconsin Hero Outdoors (WHO) works with Veterans and First responders to aide in suicide prevention by utilizing the camaraderie of outdoor activities to address the physical and mental health challenges brought on by the stresses of service.

 Building Homes for Heroes was born with the hope of gifting a single home to a single veteran. Thirteen years later, thanks to the help of tireless volunteers, supporters and generous corporations, the dream has grown to more than 300 homes gifted to our nation’s injured veterans by the end of 2022, and nearly one home gifted every 11 days, on average. 

 Every year, DAV assists more than a million veterans by helping them access the benefits they’ve earned. We help veterans to achieve personal victories, great and small, such as being able to provide for their families, overcome homelessness, finish their education, access vital funds and even gather together with their fellow veterans to share good times. 

 To enhance the well-being of America's veterans, their families, our military, and our communities by our devotion to mutual helpfulness. The American Legion's vision statement is "The American Legion: Veterans Strengthening America." 

The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States is a nonprofit veterans service organization comprised of eligible veterans and military service members from the active, guard and reserve forces.

We trace our roots back to 1899 when veterans of the Spanish-American War (1898) and the Philippine Insurrection (1899-1902) founded local organizations to secure rights and benefits for their service. Many arrived home wounded or sick. There was no medical care or veterans' pension for them, and they were left to care for themselves.
